Purpose

Native Nuclear empowers Native communities and uplifts their voices in the nuclear energy sector. By supporting tribal energy sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and sustainable energy development, we aim to bolster Native communities and strengthen their role in shaping the future of nuclear energy.

Native Nuclear is here to empower Native communities and uplift their voices in the nuclear energy sector. Tribal sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and equitable access to sustainable energy, are all pathways for amplifying Native communities role in shaping the future of nuclear energy.

Collaboration

Collaboration

Our work is realized through community; we support policies that protect Native lands and cultural resources, aligning modern energy goals with traditional values, and fostering relationships rooted in trust. We create impact by building workforce development programs, connecting economic opportunities to tribal groups, and advancing sustainable energy pathways that uplift Native communities.

Our Logo: A Symbol of Collaboration

Our logo blends Native and atomic symbolism to reflect our mission to bridge traditional knowledge with the future of nuclear energy. With beaded shells as "electrons" and a centered turtle to represent the Native concept of Turtle Island, our logo represents resilience, wisdom, and interconnectedness. Just as these beads form meaningful connections, we strive to build networks that honor Indigenous heritage while shaping a sustainable energy future.

Centering Tribal Voices

We work with the Department of Energy’s Collaboration-Based Siting Consortia for Consolidated Interim Storage, leading tribal outreach efforts in relocating spent nuclear fuel. Our goal is to create an inclusive, transparent process where tribal nations have a say in decisions affecting their lands and communities.

Collaboration & Stewardship

Historically, many infrastructure projects, including nuclear energy development, have been undertaken without true consideration of the affected tribal communities. Native Nuclear believes that tribal collaboration is essential to sovereignty, cultural respect, and long-term stewardship.

Coalition & Partnership

Native Nuclear invites state legislatures, Native groups, and stakeholders to advance collaborative energy infrastructure projects. Together, we can foster sustainable and respectful dialogue that honors tribal sovereignty for the benefit of all communities involved.
